The EKTA Foundation is committed to the enhancement of human dignity through education and training. Re:Coded, our program partner, believes that anyone, anywhere should have the opportunity to thrive in the digital economy. Our joint mission in Jordan is to empower youth from underserved communities to build careers in technology.
Re:Coded will conduct immersive bootcamps in Full Stack Software development for a selected cohort of motivated learners. Beyond the essential technical skills, students will gain hands-on experience building real-world projects, followed by mentorship and career coaching from industry professionals to help land their first jobs in tech. Students can quickly go from entry-level to a designer or software developer working in the digital economy in 9 to 12 months.
The outcomes are life-changing: 94% of Re:Coded program graduates secure employment within 6 months of graduation at annual salaries three times higher than they aspired to before training. Almost half of the gainfully employed graduates are newly empowered women.
Jordan has made employment in this sector a National priority and is promoting it as a viable pathway for youth, women, and refugees. Their Digital Transformation Strategy sets out ambitious goals for job creation in the sector by 2025.
Global and Regional Employers have established operations in the country & local organizations are experiencing rapid organic growth. However, critical gaps remain to ensure that there is an adequate supply of the skills demanded in emerging technology sectors. They cite lack of hands-on experience, soft skills, or an understanding of global technology.
With EKTA’s support, Re:Coded will demonstrate how those gaps can be filled with competent, career-ready professionals from within Jordan to fulfill the needs of the region and the world.
Our work in Education in the US began in 2012 when we became actively engaged with an innovative and intriguing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program for high school students.
The QUESTion Project™ from Open Future Institute was co-created by our dear friends, Gerard Senehi and his wife, Francesca Rusciani, with input from University & High School Faculty and Students.
It is an engaging, interactive classroom workshop that draws students into an exploration of life’s bigger questions across five pillars:
Choice;
Purpose;
Fearlessness;
Interconnectedness; and
A Bigger Picture.
Through its content and methodology, The QUESTion Project™ represents a shift in the way educators empower themselves to acknowledge and inspire the whole student.
We envision outcomes that range from adoption of the interactive method in imparting all knowledge to the creation of a new SEL subject field in education. Our approach creates an environment and safe space where students uncover their true abilities and aspirations, and move forward confidently, with a sense of principled self-empowerment, to make the world a better place.
The QUESTion Project™ helps students develop the 21st Century skillset – Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking – and our contribution, Cross-Cultural Awareness. These attributes are defined by companies and organizations that have the highest potential to offer our youth the fulfilling careers of the future.
